Following rain showers last week we enjoyed a breathtakingly beautiful Saturday yesterday -- fresh, green, warm and sunny. I have the song "Lovely Day" (Bill Withers) running through my head! Here is the golf and country club where I met friends for lunch yesterday.
Words to write, words to read, words to share, journals, journeys, scrapbooks, yearbooks.... sharing the stories in my life.

Why, Hail, Yes!
We've had some wet and wild weather on the Central Coast this week, including several hailstorms. I can sleep through rain, but the hail we had last night woke me up. It looks nice and calm from the webcam on Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey at the moment. Check it out:

Sounds like another good day to stay in and organize my closets. There is still clean up to do in there from Christmas chaos. Is it quirky that I actually enjoy organizing or at least the idea of it? Organizing books are plentiful in my house and several home organizing and decorating sites and blogs are bookmarked on my laptop. One of my favorites is Get Organized Now!
Actually rolling up my sleeves and getting after it can be prone to procrastination. No more! One of my New Year's Resolutions was to stop putting things off. It's action year so here I go!

Mark Twain was right
"The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." Mark Twain's words. I would like to add our fair city 90 minutes south of San Francisco to that, as well. It is another cool and overcast weekend here in Monterey, and we are donning our sweaters and jackets once again.

Laughing From the Inside Out
Peeling off wringing wraps
Bundling into warm robes
and Laughing from the inside out...
...ah, the aftermath of a rainwalk.
Poem written by Brenda (your's truly) in the 1970's.
It's raining today! We need the rain here in California for our much too dry terrain, but we also need the change of scenery. Rain is our version of "fall" arriving. Time to put a fire in the fireplace, cozy up with apple cider and a bowl of popcorn.
